Frequently Asked Questions
:: WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS ::
Glass Heart Tattoo is an appointment based studio. This means our artists schedule their appointments in accordance to their personal schedules. However, the shop is open Tues-Sat between 1-6pm if you need to call or stop through for your consultation.
:: DOES YOUR SHOP TAKE WALK INS ::
Unless otherwise posted, we do not take walk ins. On occasion, an artist may have a cancelation or rescheduled appointment. In which case they, as well as the shop, would advertise "Walk In Time Available" through our social media pages. Find us on Facebook and Instagram.
:: DO YOU TATTOO MINORS ::
Glass Heart Tattoo does tattoo minors in accordance to Pennsylvania Sate Law. We will tattoo minors that are 16/17 years old with Parental Consent.
Our shop requires that both parties (minor and parent,) have a Photo ID upon arrival. This could be a State Issued Photo ID, Military ID, Passport, Drivers Permit, Drivers License or School ID. We also require a second form of ID with either a Birth Certificate or Paternal Papers.
There is a Minor Consent Form that is to be filled out and signed, by both Consenting Parent and Minor.
The signing Parent must be present for the entire process. There are no drop off and pick ups allowed for Minors in our studio.
:: HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR TATTOOS ::
Glass Heart Tattoo Artists approach tattoo pricing in different ways. Pricing depends on a few different factors.
Single Session Tattoos, or tattoos done in one sitting are usually quoted on the spot, based on hourly projection. Each artist is slightly different in their cost, but you can generally expect to pay around the national average of $150-200hr.
Larger Projects or Multi-Session Work (ie: Sleeves, Backs, Legs, Cover Ups, Reworks,) will usually be offered Session Rate Pricing. Each artist sets their own session rates in accordance to their own pricing.
:: HOW DO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN ARTIST ::
To best assist you in booking your appointments, please check out our Artist Section here on our site. Be sure to look at each artists portfolio of work. Then once you know which Artist(s) work you prefer, you can contact us direct through message or phone. We will then get you in contact with that artist, and they will walk you through the process of setting up consultation and/or appointment times.
Single Sessions Work can usually be set up online through email, but will sometimes require an in person consultation. Multiple Session Work and Cover Up or Rework will almost always require an in person Consultation when possible. If you are not located local to us, the artist will handle this with you in their communication.
All Glass Heart Tattoo Artists Require a Non-Refundable Deposit to book any and all appointments. This will be a simple, up front fee that will be taken to hold your appointments. Clients will loose their deposits in the event of a Cancelation, No Call - No Show, and in some cases arriving late without notice.
Response times to email requests from both Artists and the Shop can sometimes take up to a week. We have a high volume of requests for new clients, as well as our rotating clientele. Please be patient when inquiring about availabilities and information. If you have reached out, and have not heard a response after week, please call or email the shop direct.
:: HOW LONG IS THE WAIT FOR A TATTOO ::
Appointment wait times will vary, depending on the artist you wish to work with, as well as your personal schedule and availabilities. Common Days Off for most working class tend to be more popular appointments, and tend to have a longer wait period. We recommend booking a good distance ahead of time, allowing you to schedule days off and/or make arrangements for your day.
When you contact the shop, or an artists about booking appointments, please be patient in waiting for a response. Our artists do their best to respond to any and all inquires for their work. Sometimes a response can take up to a week or more to get too. If you send out a message and do not receive a response in a weeks time, message the shop direct, and we can offer a reminder to any artist.
:: CAN I BRING A FRIEND(S) ::
At Glass Heart tattoo, we welcome you to bring a friend or two with you when necessary. We know tattooing can be a major event, and in some cases a nervous one. So having a friend or family member can help you during that time.

As long as the children remain under control, and behave appropriately, we have no issues with them being in our shop. In the event your child; Damages Items or Artists Property, Interferes with an Artist Work, or is disruptive or disrespectful to any Artists or Client in the studio, you will be asked to leave and will be require to reschedule your appointment.
